The beginning of 19th century  1812th. The Napoleon troops invade Moscow, left by its inhabitants. Almost all the city is burnt in fire. Another Moscow is being built to replace the ancient Russian and a Baroque Moscow, vanished in fire, and classicism becomes for such Moscow the main architectural style. Today the most part of old Moscow is built in this very style. The ideas of rationalism lie at the root of classicism, which is positioned as an appeal to the forms of ancient art of building, as to the standard of harmony, chastity and monumentality.
